The Ikey Tiger Spirit was alive last Friday evening at the Club’s annual Black Tie Dinner! We celebrated 135 years of running rugby with much laughter, stories and a drop or two of help from our friends at Zevenwacht Wines, Castle Light and Flying Fish. Pictures below!
It would have been lekker if the Springboks had knocked over a last minute dropkick against the All Blacks on Saturday – but don’t let that deter you – dropkick your financial advisor and get behind the Ikey Tiger cause. We are now up to R2.8m committed per annum for the next 5yrs!
Fundraising Background Recap:
If you missed out on our initial email outlining the 2017 Fundraising Drive, you can find more information on the Ikeys website here.
The WPCC Oaks Room was packed to capacity and what an evening – the atmosphere was alive with possibility and positivity for the future of the Ikey Tigers. Club Chairman, Greg Fury, shared some highlights of the Club’s 5yr vision; our star-studded panel was on fire – Doc Cecil Moss, Dr Derick van Den Berg, Ian McCallum, Scarra Ntubeni and Keith Andrews; and emcee Howie Kahn gave a stellar performance.
All of the panel members had played and coached against New Zealand opposition over many decades, so the conversation was rich with belly-loads of laughter, wisdom, serious interjections,an immense respect for the All Blacks and a shared love for the Green and Gold.
