Our Thanks To An Ikey Legend
Sadly, the time has come to say good bye to admin supremo, Gavin Sheldon, who has been with the Club through thick and thin since 2005, serving thousands of players, coaches and supporters. He has made the tough call to relocate to the Eastern Cape to be closer to family, and we wanted to give him the send off he deserves.
Since the news was announced we have been inundated with farewell messages from Ikeys around the world via email and social media.
If you would still like to share a farewell message or memory, please add it on social media.
Gav, A huge thank you for all your hard work up on the Green Mile ensuring that things ran smoothly, for watching the finances and especially for your generosity in fetching me for Finance meetings and dropping me off again. We had many laughs together over the last 17 years and Toody and I wish you all the best for the future, we will definitely miss you. Good luck in the Eastern Cape.

To Gavin Sheldon, A huge thanks for all your time and effort that you dedicated to the UCTRFC. As an ex-Ikey, your many years’ service are truly appreciated. Also, thanks for your most kind assistance during the recent RWC Sevens. All of the very best in the next chapter of your rugby journey.
Rob Wagner (UCTRFC 1973-1979)
Dear Gav, Thanks very much for 17 great years. From the first time we met in 2005 until your last day in office you have been a wonderfully efficient and diligent force at UCTRFC. We are going to miss you. We wish you and Marshall and the family all the best as you settle into your new life in PE. We look forward to seeing you alongside the field whenever we are playing NMMU. All the best.
