Vics edge Ikey Tigers

The Ikeys rugby sides had a tough time out in Stellenbosch, with the Ikey Tigers going down narrowly by 29:33 and only the UCT Eagles booking a win away 24:10.

The Tigers will be disappointed not to claim the win and the single log point is not what they intended to challenge for in their quest to chase the elusive league title.

But credit has to go to the young hosts who held a narrow 12:9 lead at the half and true to their favoured running rugby style ended up outscoring the visitors by five tries to two.

UCT's Eagles however carried on their impressive form with a bonus point victory and are sitting ahead of Maties with only one loss, 49 log points and the staggering points difference of +312 points.

The Ikeys now host Hamiltons on Wednesday night with rain and cold forecast, which will make for a tough encounter with the heavy and experienced Greenpoint outfit.
