Animal Roberts carving through Durbel defenders – supported by Snoopy Knoop and Bob Skinstad
Remember Animal Roberts, the Zimbo wing who preferred to run over his opposition rather than around them? Animal is a true Ikey legend – rumour has it he fell asleep sitting in the front row of a Western Province team meeting following a big night out – raw talent!
Apparently, the first thing he said, once he had been carried off the field with a hectic leg injury (multiple breaks / torn ligaments) was: “Now you can get me a beer”. Ironically, the Animal is now a Doctor of Zoology.
