UCT Varsity Cup squad trials – 10s style

The UCTRFC Ikey Tigers Varsity Cup squad last week played trials in a 10-a-side format. Here some of the action and interviews. Watch all three videos below!

You would have seen the report from the UCT Tens at the Green Mile. Thanks to John Salt from Satellite Projects, you can now have a look back at some videos from the trials.

John has published three exclusive videos on YouTube, all of which contain exclusive footage from the UCT Tens – a great warm-up for the Cape Town Tens and Varsity Cup – and he has kindly allowed us to publish them.

Aside from some superb rugby action, Howie Kahn of www.capetowntens.com  also interviewed UCT coaches John Dobson and Robbie Fleck for their views on the Cape Town Tens, whilst he also caught up with a host of Ikey Tigers stars.

Ikeys skipper and USA Eagles loose forward JJ Gagiano was put under the spotlight to talk Tens, along with scrumhalf Stu Commins, inside centre ‘Poot’ Engelbrecht, new winger Dane Johnson, flanker Enoch Panya and WP hotshots Tiger Bax and Tim Whitehead.

UCT hooker Dan Janes, taking a break from playing in the Tens, helped us out by interviewing young centre Adrian Kritzinger, with ‘Danger’ also treating us to a rendition of the infamous ‘Beetle’ afterwards.

Another well-known face to front up to the cameras was top local referee, Joel Salmons, who even had time to leave a special message for Fleckie, one of the CT Tens hosts.
