UCT v False Bay-Mark Jordaan memorial day

UCT v False Bay  Saturday 1st March from 12.45pm, UCT fields aka The Green Mile

The annual Mark Jordaan Memorial Rugby matches have been contested between the UCT and False Bay Rugby Clubs since 1989. As is tradition, they are the first friendly matches of the season and one of the few occasions where Super League B favourites False Bay get to take on a Super League A big gun.

The trophy is awarded based on the overall performance of all participating sides on the day and is a tribute not only to the late Mark Jordaan, who played for both UCT and False Bay RFC, but to the great history and relationship between the two clubs.

With the Varsity Cup making headlines and the VC team on their way to
Johannesburg, it is the first real opportunity for the UCT 1st team as
well as the other teams of the club to show their skill in what is
always an enjoyable and competitive rugby day .

Apart from the clash of the 1st teams, a special match to watch will be the UCT Old Crocks taking on their False Bay counterparts. All matches are played on the UCT A fields!
