UCT U20 Trojans kick off Varsity Cup Young Guns competition

The inaugural Varsity Young Guns competition will kick-off on Monday, February 6 with one match in each pool taking place in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth 

The day’s first match will see FNB UCT host FNB Shimlas at the Green Mile in Cape Town – in FNB Pool action – with FNB NMMU later playing host to FNB NWU-Pukke in Steinhoff Pool action in PE.

This brand-new, students-only Under-20 tournament will run parallel with the 2012 Varsity Cup – with all matches being played as curtain-raisers to the main competition.

The eight competing teams have been divided into two pools of four each (according to their seedings – see below), with the universities all playing three league matches followed by the semifinals and the final; with the latter set to be played as a curtain-raiser to the 2012 Varsity Shield Final on Monday, April 2.
