UCT Travel To Villagers
Andile Majola
In the penultimate round of the WP Super A League, UCT travels to Villagers RFC as they look to secure their spot at the top of the log. As the second oldest rugby club in the country, Villagers and UCT have had many a great battle over the years.
Villagers have struggled for consistency in this year’s competition as they find themselves languishing in 10th place. Their most recent fixture saw them run ragged by UWC as they lost that match 52-17.
UCT on the hand is riding high having won every game since they got back from their winter break. That form has found them perched at the top of the pile in first place on the log so they travel down to Villagers riding a wave of confidence.
Prepare yourself for a full day of rugby as the day kicks off with the UCT 3rd XV, the bears, up against Villagers 3rd XV as they look to secure their qualification to the playoffs. That game kicks off at 13h30.
Next, at 14h40, the UCT 2nd XV will look to continue their winning streak as they push for the top spot on their respective log as they go up against Villagers 2nd XV.
The final game of the day will feature the UCT 1st XV up against Villagers 1st XV in a match as old as time itself as the two old foes meet again. UCT will be on the hunt for another bonus point victory as they look to secure their spot at the top of the log.
All matches will be taking place at the famous Villagers RFC grounds in Claremont, so go down and support the boys as they look to cap off a glorious season in style.
