The Ikeys Premier League Returns

Dust the cobwebs off those old boots and get ready for an action packed pre-season as the Ikeys Premier League (IPL) returns for another year of epic UCT rugby.

Personal Trust, Carew’s Corner, Flaming Leprechauns, Striped Horse, Step Dads and Impi Poets all return with fresh faces to fight to lift the prestigious IPL trophy and of course carry the bragging rights around the club for 2019.

Carew’s Corner will be looking to avenge their narrow defeat in last year’s final and start their 2019 campaign off with a win when they take on The Flaming Leprechauns in the opening game of this year’s tournament. This match kicks off at 18:30

Personal Trust will look to defend their title in 2019 as the inaugural winners and kick off their campaign against the stubborn Step Dads in the second match up of the day. This game starting at 19:30.

The last match up of the night features the formidable Impi Poets take on the unwavering Striped Horse’s at 20:30.

Although the teams may be made up of fresh faces after the 2019 IPL draft, the coaches and managers have a put in a great deal of work to ensure that the squads carry a lot of pride in the teams they represent.

The Ikeys Pub & Grind will most certainly be open as all of these matches will be taking place on the Green Mile. There will be ice cold refreshments and flame grilled food available for you to enjoy while watching the running rugby on display. Make sure you don’t miss out on the festivities as the tournament kicks off this Friday night, the 1^st of March.
