TEAMS RAISE THERE GAME TO SECURE QUARTER FINAL SPOT
On a cold and windy night Internal league teams came out to secure those vital points taking them to that quarter final playoff.
The lack luster Spanners team that we saw in the 1st round is no more. As they stake their quarterfinal berth after a good win last night. The game was no one sided affair with Panthers doing more of the attacking work. The Spanners defence however standing mightily tall as the Panthers tried to claw their way into an early advantage. The newly recruited Spanners team however made the game their own after an inspirational half time talk from captain Nic Van lierde. This to sparked his own game as he made some dashing runs, he finished a move started midway through the second half scoring under the post. The panthers how ever did score at the end of the match but it was just a little too late as Spanners won the game 20 – 10.
The other teams on show was Ikhaya up against Catsville. A tightly contested match which ended up going Ikhaya’s way with a 18 – 12 victory. Magic Lions showed they to are worthy contenders for the title hunt after thrashing Marquard 34 – 00.
