VIDEO: One year anniversary of the World University Championship title
On Monday 21 September 2015 the FNB Ikey Tigers beat Trinity College Dublin by 17:0 in the inaugural World University Rugby Championships final at Iffley Road Rugby Ground, Oxford.
The UCT students clinched the trophy following an exciting clash of the hemispheres, after having met and beaten Waseda University from Japan 31:14, Oxford Greyhouds – a stand in team for Stanford University – as well as old rivals Oxford University Blues by 28:3 to top their pool.
The semi final was played against Canadian University of British Columbia and the Ikeys came out tops by 24:12 in a fast paced match.
