Ikeys Young Guns squad announced
The UCT u20A1 Trojans coaches have selected the first 35 man squad for the 2013 Varsity Cup Young Guns competition. FNB UP-Tuks u20 won the inaugural event in 2012 after beating the Steinhoff Maties u20 live on SuperSport.
The extended Trojans squad, after having completed 10 weeks of pre-season training, have made the task of selecting a 35 man final squad extremely difficult as players have made huge sacrifices each week and have given their all in making this first half of the pre-season massively successful.
The 35 man squad will be joining up again on January 4th where the squad will be completing team building exercises and will be attending the prestigious Western Province Institute for a 3 day camp where the technical preparations will be completed.
The Trojans will complete their pre-season preparations by playing two warm up games as well as participating in the Cape Town 10s’ tournament where two sides will play in the Premier Division. Following this the squad will be cut to 28.
The Trojans kick off their Varsity Cup campaign against NMMU at home on the 18 February 2013 at 17:00.
