Ikeys to test Hamiltons

UCT will play log leaders Hamiltons tomorrow on the Green Mile in what promises to be a great rugby day. The UCT U20A1s are in the hunt for league honours and must win, as do the UCT Eagles, the famous second team. The Ikey Tigers 1st XV will look to test the club champs bound Hammies.

UCT coach Kevin Foote welcomes back a number of important players and has picked a strong team. Big Don Armand is back and comes into the team for the injured Nick Fenton Wells, while Mike Passaportis is back at lock and will again partner up with captain Bodo Sieber in the Ikeys engine room.

Flyer Marcello Sampson is back on the wing and adds pace to an exctiting back three together with Therlow Petersen and the experienced Dave Clayton.

The two Snoopy Knoop brothers are subs for the team – Graham has played a very solid debut match last week and the experienced Steven, a permanent starter in the blue and white some years back is due to celebrate his return after a long and successful stint overseas.

Doug Mallet has been released to support the U20s, Matt Rosslee takes over at flyhalf, with Sean van Tonder back at inside center.
