Ikeys start well ahead of Durbell clash

The FNB Ikey Tigers kicked off the 2015 WP league season with an impressive 66-10 win over Tygerberg RFC at the Green Mile on Saturday and look primed for their Wednesday night battle with newly crowned Community Cup Champions Durbell.

In the league opener, Tygerberg were first to score but the students found their rhythm and lead 26-10 at half time. 

The UCT side's post Varsity Cup cob webs were cleared in the second half, when they kept Tygerberg scoreless and ran in the balance of a total of 10 tries. Paul Cohen scored a hatrick, with Kiwi center Guy Schwikkard scoring two tries in his last match for UCT.

The Ikey Tigers now face a strong Durbell side in what is a mouthwatering clash of two of the countries top sides in the Varsity Cup semi finalist vs the Community Cup Champions.
