UCT took on Villagers on Saturday 26 May. Unfortunately, villagers sealed victory in the dying minutes of the game through a try in the corner. The game was another bruising encounter, with both teams defence
holding strong throughout the first half. However, UCT did fail to
capitalise on a number of opportunities during the first half, most of
which were instigated by the ever-prominent James Richards. Villagers
led going into the half 6-3.

UCT struck first in the second half through some great backline play.
Ball gong wide from a move, some great hands and speed saw Rob Hopwood
score in the Villagers corner. Gareth Wright converted to put UCT
a-head 10-6. Villagers replied with a great break through the UCT line,
the Villagers wing slicing the line and running 50 meters to score
under the poles. Villagers converted to put them ahead 11-6.

Unfortunately UCT was unable to penetrate the Villagers defence, attack
after attack was stopped. A turnover ball spelt the end of the UCT
campaign. Turnover ball from a ruck saw the Villagers side spread the
ball wide to their replacement hooker on the wing, who scored in the
corner, to put the game out of reach of UCT. Final score 18-10.
