Ikeys announce team for Intervarsity

Head to head – old rivals Ikeys and Maties
UCT head coach Kevin Foote has announced his side to take on Maties and challenge for the Intervarsity Trophy tomorrow at Coetzenberg stadium in Stellenbosch.

The team features the bulk of the Varsity Cup winning side with Neil Rautenbach in at hooker in place of the injured Matt Page and Hilton Lobberts at lock for Levi Odendall who is recovering from ankle surgery.

Versatile forward Don Armand who played the Pretoria final at flank moves to lock for Eben Etzebeth who is on tour with SA U20, the talented Zandy Macdonald takes over his place in the backrow where he gets joined by skipper Fenton Wells and Greg Mallet.

All of the players have seen Varsity Cup action showing how young the side is. Points machine Demetri Catrakilis is pivoting at flyhalf and Marcel Brache is back from WP Vodacom to join his Ikeys team mates.

Kick off is 16.00 at Coetzenberg stadium.

UCT buses leave from lower campus at 14.00 and 14.30.

Bus tickets can be had at R30 tomorrow if you have missed your window today – match tickets are available at the gate for R20.
