We’ve reached the penultimate leg of the round robin phase of the FNB Varsity Cup 11 and the FNB Ikey Tigers have everything to play for.

The men from Cape Town are coming off a bye week, following 6 s weeks of straight gruelling rugby. As much as the break was surely welcome, one can only imagine that the players spent the week sitting anxiously watching the other matches hoping the other results went in their favour.

The side from Bloemfontein currently sit second from the bottom of the log going into this round. Considering that this year is a promotion relegation year they will be hoping to avoid that playoff spot.

This means that going into this fixture both teams have everything to play for, even if their aspirations lie at different ends of the table.

They’re coming off a tough loss against the log leaders FNB Maties but would have learnt a lot from that match and will be looking to get back to winning ways.

The FNB Ikey Tigers have a good record against the side from Bloem, apart from their shock loss the last time the two sides met, but they’ll be looking to put that behind them when they meet on Monday.
