COBRAS ARE THE 2011 CHAMPIONS

The Steinhoff Nadoes and Steinhoff Cobras give fans another sensational match to watch on the mile.

With all sixteen teams in action on the night you could feel the tension in the air as we drew closer to the Final. The two main matches being the plate final and the cup final. The plate final included the Steinhoff Panthers and Steinhoff Shebeen Boys,and also the curtain raiser for the final.

The Steinhoff Panthers had to dig deep to become champs of the plate section. Steinhoff Shebeen boys with far more experience in their team led 7 – 5 throughout the match but a penalty late in the match by the Panthers won it for them.

The match of the evening that drew the crowd was definitely the final between Steinhoff Cobras and Steinhoff Nadoes and if you were here you could see why. There was a crowd out to support their teams as big as what we have for a VC semi-final and it’s great to see that this rivalry between the Steinhoff Cobras and Steinhoff Nadoes still alive to date.

Steinhoff Nadoes made the Steinhoff Cobras defend in the early stages of the match but it was the Steinhoff Cobras that drew first blood. The Steinhoff nadoes then came back and won a penalty which they converted taking the score to 7 – 3 and keeping themselves in the match. Steinhoff Cobras in the attack after the restart soon got another penalty as they drew the Steinhoff Nadoes into making errors. Steinhoff Cobras then opted to convert this too and went into the break 10 – 3. Steinhoff Nadoes then came back and scored almost immediately from restart but missing conversion. The game now a two point gap difference. Steinhoff Cobras then broke loose and scored another try and scored stayed this way and so with it taking the Steinhoff UCT Internal League Final 2011.
