Brache and Etzebeth nominated for Varsity Cup awards

Two Ikeys stars are in the running for the Back that Rocks and Forward that Rocks award and you can make your vote count for them.

All eight coaches were asked to nominate their outstanding players this season – in any of the eight teams, in other words they could vote for their own players – and those were then whittled down to three players in each category.

Voting is now open for you to have your say about your number one player, with supporters having a 50% say in proceedings – 25% of the vote coming from the official Varsity Cup website right here and 25% via Rapport.

The Varsity Cup coaches’ votes will also count 25% towards the final tally, with the Varsity Cup Exco making up the final 25% of the voting tally. Click here top get to the voting.

UCT lock Etzebeth is a youngster with a bright future, the Ikeys hardman did not only shine for the Cape students, but also in the SA U20 team tour to Argentina.

The winner in each category will receive a Hertz-sponsored car – for one year – along with cash prizes; R15,000 for the overall Player that Rocks and R5,000 (each) for the Forward and Back of the Tournament.
