Back To Winning Ways

Andile Majola

After hitting a bit of a stumbling block in the middle of the season I think it’s safe to say that the Ikey Tigers are back to winning ways after mounting two very impressive back to back victories over the last week.

After an impressive mid-week victory against Belhar, the Ikey Tigers carried that winning momentum with them on the road to get a very impressive 38-29 victory over St George’s 1st XV.

The U20A Trojans have now made it 12 wins from 12 matches and are now only 2 matches away from claiming the league cup in the most impressive fashion.

The UCT Internal League Championship continues this week as the teams go into their last round of round robin action before the playoffs leaving teams with everything to play for.

In Pool A the Nadoes will look to cement their top spot on the log when they take on the Knights. In probably one of the most exciting fixtures of the week the Saints and the Turtles have it all to play for in a winner takes all clash for a spot in the cup semi-final. The last fixture in that pool sees the UCT 3rd XV and Leo Marquard clash for the infamous wooden spoon.

In Pool B the Cobras will want to continue their winning ways and make it 5 from 5 when they take on Smuts, while the UCT U20B side go head to head with Ubumbo.

Be sure to keep your Wednesday night free if you want to catch all of this and more as the Green Mile continues to deliver running rugby at it’s finest.
