Ikeys forward Don Armand has flown to Australia to join up with the injury-hit Stormers squad ahead of their final tour match against the Western Force in Perth this weekend.
The lock-cum-flank has been a key member of the unbeaten Western Province Vodacom Cup side this season – a team captained by UCT mate Nick Fenton-Wells – but Don now has a chance to make his Super Rugby debut after having featured in the Stormers pre-season friendly matches.
At 107 kilograms, and 1,91 metres tall, Don has been called up due to Duane Vermeulen's knee injury, but with uncertainty over locks Andries Bekker and Eben Etzebeth, the UCT and WP star could provide second row cover too.
Armand will join up with fellow Ikey – and loose forward – Nizaam Carr as part of the Stormers' squad in Australia.
