Watch your former and current Ikey favourites turning out for the local franchises in the upcoming 2020 SuperRugby Zans Afrika competition.

While the teams have not been announced yet, it is expected that a number of Ikeys will turn out for the franchise teams in the upcoming competition. 

A number of Ikeys have recently moved to the Northern Hemisphere to play rugby. Nic Groom (Edinburgh), Dillyn Leyds (La Rochelle), Mike Willemse (Edinburgh), Dylan Sage (Montauban) and Luke Stringer (Montauban).  We still however expect to see players such as Siya Kolisi, Scarra Ntubeni, Chad Solomon and possibly youngsters David Meihuizen and Nama Xaba featuring for the Stormers. Also for the Sharks possibly Michael Kumbirai and the Lions, Sti Sithole.

The fixtures for the upcoming 2020 SuperRugby Zans Afrika competition have been unofficially released on social media. It is understood the local franchises will play from 10 October 2020 with the finals to be played on 23 January 2021. The teams taking part in the competition will be The Cheetahs, Griquas, Lions, Pumas, Sharks and Stormers. The fixtures are believed to be:

26 September: SuperHero Saturday (Loftus Versveld) 

10 October: Cheetahs vs Pumas, Sharks vs Lions, Bulls vs Griquas 

17 October: Cheetahs vs Bulls, Griquas vs Pumas, Stormers vs lions 

24 October: Lions vs Cheetahs, Bulls vs Sharks, Pumas vs Stormers 

3I October: Bulls vs Stormers, Lions vs Griquas, Pumas vs Sharks

7 November: Sharks vs Cheetahs, Lions vs Bulls, Griquas vs Stormers 

14 November: Griquas vs Sharks, Stormers vs Cheetahs, Lions vs Pumas 

21 November: Cheetahs vs Griquas, Bulls vs Pumas, Sharks vs Stormers

28 November:  Stormers vs Bulls, Griquas vs lions, Sharks vs Pumas 

5 December Bulls vs Cheetahs, Pumas vs Griquas, Lions vs Stormers 

12 December: Cheetahs vs lions, Sharks vs Bulls, Stormers vs Pumas 

19 December: Pumas vs Cheetahs, Lions vs Sharks, Griquas vs Bulls 

26 December Cheetahs vs Sharks, Bulls vs Lions, Stormers vs Griquas

2 January: Sharks vs Griquas, Cheetahs vs Stormers, Pumas vs Lions

9 January: Griquas vs Cheetahs, Pumas vs Bulls, Stormers vs Sharks 

16 January 2021: Semi-finals

23 January 2021: Final
