Club rugby was at its peak in South Africa in the sixties, and crowds of up to 25000 knowledgeable fans and supporters descended on Newlands on Saturday’s to enjoy the matches between 6 Western Cape Grand Challenge teams. Other Grand Challenge fixtures were played in Paarl, Stellenbosch and Somerset –West.

UCT RFC Continues Partnership with VUSA Academy

It has been 18 months since UCTRFC launched its partnership with the VUSA Rugby and Learning Academy, which involves a recreational programme designed to educate, entertain and inspire young learners from the Langa community about the opportunities and power of rugby and education.

2019 League season coming to a successful end for UCT RFC

The 2019 round-robin section of the league came to an end this past weekend and will now move into the knock-out phase. The league was delayed due to a referees strike against recent abuse on and off the field. Herewith an update on the UCT 2019 League season for all the teams.

Under 20A Cubs League Report

The start of the league campaign was rather disrupted as the extended Varsity Cup program coincided with the first few varsity league games. That being said, it was also a great opportunity for the fringe players (many of which are now the Babrows), as well as any VC players not selected to get some game time.
