An overview of Ikey old boys who are making headlines on the world stage; from the Six Nations, to Super Rugby and much more…
t was with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of a most loved and respected Ikey old boy, Dr Graham Desmond Ducasse (1974 – 1977), on 26 March 2018 after a brave battle with cancer. We pass on our heartfelt condolences to Sandi, Michael, Robyn, Peter, David and Dr Ducasse’s extended family.
The Ikeys have played 4, won 2 and lost 2 and are currently in fourth position. Both defeats were by a small margin of 4/5 points and were games that could have been won. In particular in the game against Shimlas, the Ikeys created plenty of scoring opportunities to win and close out the match.
The Ikeys Preseason Squad for the 2018 Varsity Cup campaign felt the need to contribute to something bigger than rugby and to have a positive influence in our community. So, the Ikeys Run for Hope was born – hopefully an annual event looking to raise money and awareness for two noteworthy causes.
The culmination of all the long hours of sweat in the gym, on the fields and at training camps over the past four months was celebrated at the Neville Isdell Centre on 26 January 2018 in the form of a Blazer Handing Over Ceremony.
